3. Do you want a stackable player or a manual player? If you want to listen to music for leisure, and wish to stack various records on the spindle for consecutive play then you should buy a stackable player. 4. What speed of player do you need? The most common speed found is 33 to 45 RPM i.e. revolution per minute. If you have really old records then they are played on 78 RPM and the very old ones are played on 16 RPM. You should know which speeds your vinyl collection will accommodate.

5. What style or Decor do you want? Record players come in a variety of decorative styles. You can buy a vintage looking player or pick out a high tech player. You should make sure that the player you buy goes with the décor of your home.
